Coaches should have a presence on social media in today’s world. People research their coach before they make their final decision and when there is no presence on social media it might make people wonder.
Furthermore, media outlets research coaches for their podcasts and radio shows, so having a presence on social media will not only open coaches up to more opportunities, but chances are that the hosts will ask you better questions. Here are some of the platforms where people search for coaches.
Having a Facebook page for your business is a must. You can create an additional page for your personal brand that details all of your information.
On your Facebook page(s), you should have a nice banner with a very catchy picture and/or title. Your feed should be all about what you are doing relevant to the business or brand represented on the page. Tailor your content to the audience because the page is about them, not about you.
Remember, you are putting out the information because the audience needs to resonate with what you are sharing. People need to visualize themselves using your services before they will buy. To be able to cater to your audience, you can bring the product to them through video, graphics and words. While you’re catering to your audience, you should share the content on your other social media accounts. Your audience may or may not respond to you, but remember – they are always looking for you to post updates to keep them informed.
With Twitter, you have 280 characters to make a difference.
Twitter is a real-time platform, so each time each time you post, you hit a different audience. This means that you are not as likely to overwhelm your audience like on other social media platforms such as Facebook.
Along with some text, you can share graphics, videos and links to get your message out to your audience. Make sure your banner and profile picture align with the branding of the page.
Twitter has a few sections that help you streamline the content you want to see.
One section is listing because it will help you clear out your feed. You can subscribe to different lists and then you have a section there to see what you are a member of. If you have a lot of followers and people like your tweets, they can put you in a group so that they can always get your tweets. That way it keeps your social media stream organized.
With the changing algorithms, sometimes you may find that the people and content you really want to see is being blocked by other tweets. Putting them in a list ensures you never have to worry about missing someone’s content.
Another section is the Following and Followers list. You can follow people who’ve been following you and you can also check out the settings button and see all the different options available to you – you can tweet the person, send a direct message, add or remove them from your list, mute them, block them, report them, you can also turn off their retweets.
If you are a visual person, Instagram is for you.
People love visuals, especially if you have products. You want to put all your products out there so that people can see what is going on with what you’re doing and what you’re selling.
You can also showcase your services on your graphics and videos. If you are a video person, then you will love IGTV. These videos can be up an hour and can be linked to your Instagram profile through a post. This is also a great place to showcase testimonials and trainings.
Hashtags are also very effective on Instagram. For every post, you get 30 hashtags and you can mix it up. Hashtags that relate to your posts can get you likes and followers. You can also have your personal hashtag and if you click your hashtag, you can see your hub on Instagram.
There are a few limits on Instagram. There are no active links on photos. Whenever you put a link in a description of a photo, it will not be active. On the other hand, you can put a link in your bio because it will be the only link that is going to be active. So if you have a website, make sure it’s right there. Make sure to let your followers know that your link is in the bio. You can create a landing page that can hold all the links you want to share on Instagram and share that as the active link on your profile.
LinkedIn is known as the business social media. You can post and put your information out there, you can connect with people, you can send your likes out, you can also see who’s been following and viewing your posts.
Just like other social media apps, you can build a business page and as well as a personal profile. Your banners and profile pictures should relate to the branding of each page.
Your Social Selling Index allows you to see the probability of your products and services selling on your profile.
There are several sections that you can benefit from on LinkedIn. When you connect to a group on LinkedIn, you can put different topics to talk about. You can join in on the topics that other people talk about and put in your comments on these things. These people have the same interests as you so why not engage with them and put your information out there and see what comes of it. There is a Profinder section where you can bid on business. This will be beneficial to your business and your reach.
These Platforms are beneficial to your business because clients and media research you on these platforms.
Make sure there are enough videos and posts that can be searched via Google and YouTube.
Create a profile on these platforms and make sure that they are complete to get the maximum reach possible. Remember to engage with your audience and tag others that are involved with the post only.
